RUSE, February 2026 – Intercom Group Ltd. announces a major expansion of its flat steel production capabilities. In the summer of 2026, a new high-efficiency line for straightening and transverse cutting of hot-rolled (HR) coils will be commissioned at Megaprofil IG–Ruse. At present, this installation is unique of its kind in Bulgaria.
A Significant Upgrade in Production Capacity
The new installation is designed for precision straightening of heavy plate steel with thicknesses of up to 25 mm and will replace the existing production line (16/2000). With its commissioning, processing capacity will increase by more than 3,000 tonnes per month.
This investment enables the company to meet the needs of industry by offering, at a much more competitive price, an alternative to heavy plate steel with thicknesses of up to 25 mm and widths of up to 2,200 mm.
The expanded product range will be primarily used in construction, the fabrication of steel structures and equipment, various metal products, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, and ship repair.

A Modern Flat Steel Service Center
The line will be installed in a brand-new production hall at the Megaprofil IG site in Ruse. The project is part of the holding’s strategy to develop a high-tech service center providing a full range of steel cutting and processing services to customers in Bulgaria, as well as in Central and Southeastern Europe.
With this new capacity, Intercom Group Ltd. significantly expands its portfolio of flat steel products, offering its partners greater flexibility and the ability to supply custom sheet sizes that have not previously been produced domestically.
